France Covers Up Israeli Arms at Paris Air Show — Tel Aviv Cries Anti-Semitism

The world’s biggest air show just became the stage for an international shouting match — and the fallout isn’t just political, it’s personal.

Israeli defense firms showed up at the Paris Air Show expecting to showcase their latest firepower. Instead, they got black curtains. French officials blocked Israeli manufacturers from displaying offensive weapons, particularly those currently being used in Gaza, citing an agreement that had explicitly banned such displays. Israel didn’t take it lightly — calling the move “bluntly anti-Semitic” and accusing France of hiding behind politics to shield their own defense industry from competition.

“The French are using so-called political concerns as a cover to stifle Israeli defense innovation,” fumed the Israeli Defense Ministry. “It’s discrimination, plain and simple.”

Among the silenced players: Elbit Systems, Israel Aerospace Industries, Rafael Advanced Defense Systems, UVision, and others — all had their booths blacked out. What was hidden? Drone prototypes, air-to-surface missiles, and other tools of war currently deployed in Gaza. Meanwhile, three smaller Israeli booths without visible weapons stayed open, along with one official Ministry of Defense stand.

France stood its ground. The Foreign Ministry emphasized that while it supports Israel’s right to defend itself — including through aid to the Iron Dome — it draws the line at showcasing instruments of war on French soil. “Our position has been clear and consistent,” they said, distancing themselves from the notion that this was a targeted slight.

Still, Israeli President Isaac Herzog wasn’t having it. In a fiery interview on French TV, he likened the act to the creation of “an Israeli ghetto,” demanding that the situation be “immediately corrected.”

Even the event organizers, caught in the crossfire, are scrambling to calm the storm. They’ve promised to “find a favorable outcome,” though what that means remains murky.

This dust-up comes at a tense moment. As Israeli airstrikes continue to pummel Iranian-linked sites — claiming over 200 lives, mostly civilians, according to Tehran — and as Iran retaliates with missiles of its own, the world is watching. The Gaza operation, already drawing global criticism, is becoming a diplomatic flashpoint.

And now, a weapons expo in Paris has exposed far more than drones and missiles — it’s laid bare the fragile, combustible state of international alliances and the growing discomfort with the brutal realities of modern warfare.
