The United Nations Push for Digital IDs by 2030: A Closer Look

In recent news, the United Nations (UN) has unveiled an ambitious plan to introduce “digital IDs” on a global scale by the year 2030. This initiative, driven by the United Nations Development Program (UNDP), has garnered significant attention, as it is slated to become mandatory for individuals wishing to fully participate in society. In this article, we will explore the UN’s rationale behind this endeavor, the role of “digital public infrastructure” (DPI), and the key players supporting its implementation.

Understanding the UN’s Motivation: The UN’s primary justification for advocating digital IDs on a worldwide scale is rooted in its commitment to achieving the United Nations’ Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). The concept of DPI, or “digital public infrastructure,” has recently emerged as a pivotal term in discussions involving technology’s potential to impact personal freedoms. DPI encompasses various elements, including digital IDs, vaccine passports, and central bank digital currencies (CBDCs). It is crucial to recognize that the push for DPI, and the associated digital IDs, is driven by the globalist World Economic Forum (WEF), with prominent support from Bill Gates and his foundation, as well as the UN and the European Union (EU).

Benefits and Controversies: Proponents of DPIs argue that they can facilitate development in numerous ways. However, it is essential to cut through the corporate jargon and realize that DPIs are, in fact, a strategic move to expedite the introduction of digital IDs and payments with a target date of 2030. On November 8, the UNDP will launch its “50in5” program, which aims to advance discussions surrounding the development of secure, inclusive, and interoperable digital public infrastructure (DPI).

Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation’s Involvement: The Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation has been actively involved in the project’s inception through its “Digital Public Goods Alliance and Co-Develop” initiative. This demonstrates the foundation’s commitment to promoting DPIs and, by extension, digital IDs on a global scale.

Global Testing Grounds: The plan to roll out digital IDs globally by 2030 intends to encompass all citizens of UN member-states. Notably, 50 countries have been designated as global testbeds where DPIs will receive a concerted push from relevant entities. It is not surprising that the technology will undergo initial testing in third-world countries, particularly in Africa (sub-Saharan regions) and India, before being introduced worldwide before the 2030 deadline.

World Economic Forum’s Perspective: In September, the WEF released a series of articles endorsing DPI enforcement, assuring the public that the transition to “cashless societies” and digital IDs will be welcomed thanks to their “zero-knowledge tech.” Moreover, the WEF presents this initiative as a means to enhance children’s rights worldwide by investing in digital public infrastructure.

Conclusion: The UN’s ambitious plan to introduce digital IDs by 2030 has raised significant concerns and questions about the implications of this move. While proponents argue that it will accelerate progress toward achieving the UN’s Sustainable Development Goals, critics see it as a potential infringement on personal freedoms. The involvement of global elites, including Bill Gates and the World Economic Forum, adds another layer of complexity to this ongoing debate. As the UN’s “50in5” program unfolds, the world watches closely to see how this digital transformation will shape our future participation in society.
