There’s a rot at the root. You can smell it if you stand still long enough. It’s in the headlines that vanish by morning, in the polished grins of politicians who never seem to pay for the wreckage they leave behind. We all know it. We all feel it—deep in our gut—that creeping, slithering sense that something’s gone terribly wrong.
Let’s not sugarcoat this. If corrupt politicians don’t get arrested, if they’re allowed to slip through the cracks with a wink and a handshake, then nothing—nothing—will ever change.
And that’s not just frustrating. It’s terrifying.
Because it means justice is a puppet show. It means your vote is a placebo. It means the law bends for the powerful and breaks the rest of us.
Look around. Wars started with lies. Fortunes made from suffering. Promises made, broken, and buried. And when the dust settles? No cuffs. No courtroom. Just another press release and a fat pension. Maybe a book deal.
How long can a house stand when termites live in the walls? How long can a country survive when the people in charge treat laws like suggestions?
This isn’t about left or right. It’s about rot and consequence. When leaders are above the law, the law becomes meaningless. When accountability is optional, corruption becomes tradition.
And traditions have a way of sticking around.
So what happens when justice doesn’t show up? When the guilty get golden parachutes instead of prison time? The answer’s not poetic. It’s ugly. You get a system that feeds on silence. A system that grows darker by the day, more arrogant by the hour. A system where the worst people make the biggest decisions, and we pretend that’s just how things work.
But that’s the thing: it only works because we let it.
Until we see handcuffs on the wrists of those who think they’re untouchable… until courtrooms echo with the names of those who’ve long hidden behind power and wealth… until consequences are more than just headlines—we’re living in a nightmare wearing the mask of democracy.
And the longer we let it slide, the deeper the nightmare digs in.
So here’s the truth, plain and cold: If corrupt politicians don’t get arrested, then justice is dead.
And if justice is dead… what’s left to believe in?
