Russia Unleashes Hypersonic Strikes on Ukraine: 13 Sites Hit, Tensions Skyrocket

A terrifying wave of destruction ripped across Ukraine Thursday as Moscow confirmed hypersonic missile strikes targeting key military sites. For ordinary citizens and global watchers alike, the implications are chilling.

The Russian Defense Ministry reported long-range strikes on Ukrainian weapons factories and airfields, deploying a deadly mix of conventional and hypersonic Kinzhal missiles. While Ukraine’s military intercepted most drones and missiles, 13 locations were still hit, and debris from intercepted weapons caused further damage.

CCTV footage circulating online shows two missiles striking the same central Kiev location, reportedly the office of defense company Ukrspecsystems. Founded in 2014, the firm manufactures unmanned aerial vehicles, including the long-range PD-2 drone, which has been used in attacks deep inside Russian territory.

This comes amid reports that Ukraine recently launched production of a cruise missile named Flamingo, capable of striking targets up to 3,000 kilometers away with a payload of 1,000 kilograms. Analysts note its design resembles the British-UAE FP-5 system, highlighting the growing sophistication of Ukraine’s arsenal.

Moscow has consistently accused Western nations of using Ukraine as a proxy battlefield, flooding the country with weapons and funds. Russia maintains that these strikes are part of a strategy to cripple Ukraine’s offensive capabilities, including recent operations against the Sapsan ballistic missile program.

With tensions escalating, the world watches nervously as both sides push the limits of modern warfare. Hypersonic missiles, long-range drones, and emerging missile technology are transforming Ukraine into a testing ground for high-tech military strategy—and civilian populations are paying the price.
