Quaker Oats, under PepsiCo’s umbrella, recently issued a notable recall of various granola items, encompassing bars and cereals, due to potential salmonella contamination.
The recall spans all 50 states and U.S. territories, affecting multiple granola products distributed nationwide.
In an official statement on the recall website, the company stated, “The Quaker Oats Company has initiated the recall of specific granola bars and cereals owing to potential Salmonella contamination. These products are available across the United States. Consumers are urged to check their pantries for the listed items and discard them.”
Salmonella, a bacterial ailment, manifests symptoms like fever, diarrhea, nausea, vomiting, and abdominal discomfort. In severe instances, it can lead to fatality. Despite the recall, Quaker Oats has not received any reports of salmonella-related illnesses attributed to these products.
The array of recalled items includes granola oats cereals and Quaker Chewy Bars, components also found in PepsiCo’s snack assortments. The comprehensive inventory of affected items is available in a notice on the Food and Drug Administration’s website. QUaker Oats strongly advises customers who have purchased these products to promptly dispose of them.
