In a recent report by the Wall Street Journal, sources allege that Tesla and SpaceX CEO Elon Musk has been engaging in the illegal consumption of drugs for several years during social events, with claims that such behavior has also been observed among board members and directors of his companies.

According to the sources cited in the report, Musk has purportedly participated in various social gatherings alongside Tesla board member Joe Gebbia, where the recreational use of ketamine, a veterinary anesthetic, has taken place. Other directors, namely Antonio Gracias, Kimbal Musk, and Steve Jurvetson, are reported to have consumed substances like ecstasy and LSD at parties, including those held at Hotel El Ganzo, a boutique hotel in Mexico reputedly known for hosting drug-fueled events.

The report suggests that some board members may have felt compelled to partake in drug use with Musk due to concerns about upsetting the billionaire or potentially losing social standing within the CEO’s inner circle.

While sources claim that Musk’s drug use is common knowledge among current and former officials at Tesla and SpaceX, the companies’ boards have reportedly not initiated investigations into these allegations, nor have they documented any claims. The report highlights the dilemma faced by the boards, as Musk’s drug use violates antidrug policies at both firms. However, official documentation of these allegations could jeopardize SpaceX’s federal contracts and Musk’s security clearance.

The Wall Street Journal previously reported on Musk’s alleged drug use, detailing a history of substances such as cocaine, ecstasy, LSD, and psychedelic mushrooms. In response, Musk took to social media, labeling the reports as a ‘hit piece’ and asserting that he regularly undergoes random drug tests at SpaceX, which he claims to have consistently passed. Musk’s lawyer, Alex Spiro, supported this claim.

As of now, neither Musk nor Spiro has commented on the latest Wall Street Journal article. Requests for comments from Tesla’s general counsel and a SpaceX spokesman have also gone unanswered. The ongoing controversy adds to the scrutiny surrounding Musk’s personal conduct and its potential implications for the companies he leads.
