In May 2022, a problem arose when the U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) declared intentions to redefine Title IX, a legislation aimed at tackling discrimination in education. The USDA expanded its ban on discrimination based on sex to include sexual orientation and gender identity, affecting organizations that receive funds and requiring them to make changes to their policies and signs.
