The federal government has announced plans to require menstruation kits in male restrooms across all federal workplaces, including military bases, as part of an effort to promote greater inclusivity and support for individuals who menstruate.
As of December 15, a new directive from Employment and Social Development Canada will require all federal workplaces and military bases across Canada to provide menstrual products in male restrooms, in addition to those already available in women’s restrooms.
The directive acknowledges that menstruation is a natural biological process and recognizes the importance of menstrual products, such as pads and tampons, in maintaining the health and well-being of Canadians. These products allow individuals who menstruate to participate fully in the workforce and society, unhindered by their menstrual cycles.
The new regulations mandate that menstrual products be provided to both the male and female bathrooms. “This means that every female-identified, male-identified and all-gender toilet rooms will need to have menstrual products,” the directive alleges.
IT further stated that providing unlimited entry to menstrual products enhances the safety and comfort of employees who menstruate, allowing them to freely choose the restroom that aligns with their gender identity.
Additionally, it is required by the regulation that employers provide a designated receptacle for the disposal of menstrual products. This receptacle must be available in every restroom with a single toilet and in each individual toilet stall within restrooms with multiple toilets.
Ironically, the directive defines menstrual products as tampons “inserted into the vagina when menstruating, with or without an applicator” and pads which “absorb menstrual fluids by affixing to underwear during menstruation.” It fails to explain why these products would be used by men.
According to Veterans 4 Freedom, a group that advocates for human rights and supports veterans, certain military bases in Canada hvae already implemented the requirement.
A group shared a message on X, previously referred to as Twitter, announcing that menstrual products are now accessible in male restrooms across all Canadian Forces Bases. This update was accompanied by a picture illustrating the presence of these products in the said bathroom.
“The mass exodus from the CAF has sparked curiosity, with many wondering what could be the reason behind it all.”
Over the past few years, there has been a growing trend in federally regulated workplaces to promote inclusivity, actively encouraging the acceptance and understanding of LGBT individuals.
The transgender rights bill was approved by the Canadian Senate in 2017, incorporating “gender expression” and “gender identity” into both the Human Rights Code and the hate crime section of the Criminal Code.
Several months later, Canadian government employees were compelled to participate in a compulsory “gender equality” course or confront undetermined repercussions.
In 2018, Canadian Government employees tasked with connecting citizens to government services were told they can no longer refer to those citizens as “sir,” “madam,” or any other gender-specific term while doing so.
Prime Minister Justin Trudeau has made it a regular occurrence for government organizations to promote the LGBT agenda.
Trudeau made another appearance at the flag raising event for the “pride” flag in Parliament in June 2023, permitting the flag to be hoisted in Canada’s capital.
In downtown Ottawa, the national office of Elections Canada, the supposedly unbiased organization in charge of managing Canadian federal elections, has declared that they will be hoisting the gay “pride” flag in August 2023. This decision has raised concerns among Canadians regarding the agency’s allegiances.
