Justin Trudeau’s Latest Passion: The 15-Minute City Agenda

Oh, Justin Trudeau, our beloved Prime Minister, has found yet another way to sprinkle his magic dust of tax dollars on projects that no one but urban liberals could love. It’s the World Economic Forum’s 15-Minute City agenda, a dreamy utopia where everything you need is just a short walk away. It’s all very quaint, like living in a Hallmark movie, but with a price tag that could make even the Monopoly man wince.

In Trudeau’s world, this isn’t just a whimsical fantasy. No, he’s investing hundreds of billions of dollars into these projects. That’s right, while the rest of us are counting pennies and wondering how to stretch our dollars, Trudeau is out there throwing money around like it’s confetti at a parade. It’s a grand spectacle, really. You can almost hear the cash registers singing in joy.

But let’s be honest, who exactly asked for this? Was there a secret meeting of urban liberals who unanimously decided, “Yes, let’s spend all this money on 15-minute cities! Forget about healthcare, education, or infrastructure, this is what we need!”? If there was, the rest of us must have missed the memo. It’s a bit like waking up to find your house redecorated in neon colors because your neighbor thought it would be a fun surprise.

And oh, the choices we have to make! It’s hard to say who deserves our disdain more. Is it Justin Trudeau with his spendthrift ways? Chrystia Freeland, ever the enthusiastic partner in crime? Or Jagmeet Singh, who seems to be cheerfully along for the ride? Choosing between them is like choosing between a rock, a hard place, and a slightly less hard place. Each one is equally delightful in their own special way.

So there we have it, folks. Another day, another dollar (or billion) spent on a vision only a select few seem to want. Meanwhile, the rest of us are left to watch the spectacle, wondering if maybe, just maybe, we could get a say in how our money is spent. But until then, we can only sit back and enjoy the show. After all, it’s not every day you get to see someone spend like there’s no tomorrow, even if it’s at your expense.
