The World Economic Forum (WEF) has taken it upon itself to address the gravest threat facing humanity today: people who dare to question the dogma of man-made climate change. In a bold move, WEF is urging governments to publicly name, shame, and prosecute those they deem as “climate criminals.“

Enter the Climate Criminals Project, a noble offshoot of the Climate Accountability Research Project (CARP). Funded by WEF and supported by a veritable who’s who of far-left organizations—350.org, Climate Clock, Global Center for Climate Justice, Greenpeace, and Summer of Heat—this initiative aims to spotlight and vilify individuals who, in their view, are the puppeteers behind the fossil fuel industry.

Meet the Climate Criminals: The List of Shame
On July 22, celebrated as Climate Emergency Day, CARP unveiled its first list of climate offenders. These 24 individuals are accused of having ties to the fossil fuel industry, financial institutions that support fossil fuels, or think tanks that question climate change orthodoxy. According to CARP, these individuals are guilty of fraud, money laundering, and other offenses that supposedly endanger the planet.
Chuck Collins, CARP co-founder, passionately declares, “The Climate Criminals campaign aims to expose the web of offenders puppeteering the fossil fuel industry from the shadows—the true kingpins of climate disruption. Future generations will demand to know who was responsible.”
The Usual Suspects: High-Profile Names on the List
Among the accused are notable figures such as Bernard McNamee, a former commissioner with the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission; Jamie Dimon, CEO of JPMorgan Chase; James M. Taylor, president of The Heartland Institute; and Kevin Roberts, president of The Heritage Foundation. These individuals are portrayed as the architects of ecological destruction and profit-driven negligence.
Environmental activist Daniel Faber chimed in, stating, “America’s top corporate polluters are architects of profit over ecological welfare and must be held accountable.”
The Dream of an International Tribunal
Collins and CARP researcher Tara Steckler imagine a near future where an international tribunal convenes to hold these “climate criminals” accountable for their actions. “Who is responsible for climate disruption?” they ask, envisioning a courtroom where these villains face justice for their environmental sins.
What Exactly Are These Crimes?
According to CARP, these “climate criminals” knew about the dangers of burning fossil fuels but chose to do nothing. Instead, they allegedly promoted disinformation, blocked reforms, and delayed action, leading us to a world of rising temperatures, wildfires, floods, and other climate catastrophes.
“They are the apex predators in the climate inaction ecosystem,” Collins and Steckler assert, declaring that future generations will remember their names.
The Demographics of Climate Criminals
CARP’s list isn’t just about climate crimes; it also highlights the lack of diversity among these offenders. Of the 24 names, 21 are male, 3 are female; 23 are white; 13 were born before 1965, and only one after 1980. Clearly, diversity and inclusion are just as important in the world of climate accountability.
What Does CARP Want?
CARP urges supporters to sign a petition demanding the International Criminal Court (ICC) investigate these climate criminals. The petition states, “We charge these 24 people with climate crimes. They have wielded their power, agency, and wealth to promote climate denial, sow doubt, block alternatives, and delay action, locking our planet onto an ecological collision course.”
A Sign of the Times: The Future of Climate Justice
Holding business owners, fossil fuel entities, and climate skeptics accountable for climate inaction might sound far-fetched, but recent events suggest otherwise. In April, the European Court of Human Rights (ECHR) ruled that the Swiss government failed to meet its climate policy duties. Though the Swiss government chose to ignore the ruling, it signals how international courts may approach similar cases in the future.

As WEF and CARP continue their crusade against climate deniers, the question remains: will public shaming and legal action truly advance the cause of climate justice, or are we witnessing the dawn of a new kind of inquisition?
