Clinton-Appointed Judge Blocks Trump’s Bid to Expose Epstein’s Secrets — Who Are They Protecting?

The shadows around Jeffrey Epstein’s world just got darker.

A Manhattan federal judge, handpicked by Bill Clinton in 1998, has slammed the brakes on President Donald Trump’s effort to unseal Epstein’s grand jury records. And with that decision, a fresh wave of suspicion is sweeping the country: are judges protecting justice, or are they protecting their own?

The Gatekeeper of Secrets

U.S. District Judge Richard Berman ruled that the 70-odd pages of grand jury testimony from Epstein’s 2019 sex-trafficking indictment are insignificant compared to the 100,000 pages of evidence the government already holds. He dismissed the material as nothing more than a “hearsay snippet” of Epstein’s conduct.

But critics see something else—a Clinton-appointed judge once again stepping in to keep potentially explosive evidence locked away from the public.

Trump, who campaigned in 2024 on a promise to “rip the lid off” Epstein’s files, had instructed Attorney General Pam Bondi in July to seek approval to make the testimony public. The Justice Department complied. Berman blocked it.

A Pattern of Stonewalling

This isn’t an isolated ruling. Earlier this month, Judge Paul Engelmayer—another Democrat-aligned Manhattan federal judge—also denied a request to unseal grand jury files tied to Epstein’s partner-in-crime, Ghislaine Maxwell, who is currently serving a 20-year sentence. In July, a Florida judge likewise shut down a bid to unseal grand jury records from Epstein’s earlier investigations in 2005 and 2007.

Three attempts. Three denials.

To conservatives, this looks less like coincidence and more like a coordinated firewall—one built to shield the names of the powerful and well-connected who orbited Epstein’s network.

The Stakes Behind the Curtain

Epstein’s suspicious death in 2019—labeled a suicide but forever clouded by unanswered questions—already convinced millions that the truth was buried with him. Now, every ruling that locks away more files fuels the belief that elites tied to Epstein are untouchable.

For Trump supporters, Judge Berman’s ruling isn’t about legal nuance—it’s about justice being strangled behind closed doors. The refusal to unseal even limited grand jury testimony feels like proof that someone, somewhere, does not want the public to know the full story.

And if the judiciary keeps the door bolted shut, the question becomes impossible to ignore: who exactly are they protecting?
